MUTOKO, Zimbabwe – A somber atmosphere has gripped the Suswe area following a horrific road traffic accident involving a Malawi-bound luxury coach that claimed 14 lives earlier this afternoon.
The accident occurred at the 176 km peg along the Harare-Nyamapanda highway at approximately 13:00 hours.
The vehicle involved, a BRD Luxury Coach, was traveling from Cape Town, South Africa, destined for Malawi.
According to initial reports from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) at the scene:
Fatalities: 14 people are confirmed dead.
Passengers: The bus was carrying a total of 63 passengers.
Location: Near Suswe, Mutoko District.
First responders and police moved swiftly to assist survivors. Injured passengers have been evacuated to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment:

The ZRP has confirmed the figures and stated that investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
