The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has appealed to members of the public for information that may lead to the arrest of Emmanuel Makazi (30), who is wanted in connection with the alleged murder of his younger brother, Munashe Makazi (22).
According to the police, the tragic incident occurred at approximately 6:30 PM on 20 July 2026 at the family's residence in Sunningdale 2, Harare.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the brothers allegedly became involved in a dispute over a missing US$50. During the altercation, Emmanuel Makazi is alleged to have stabbed Munashe once in the chest with a sharp object before fleeing from the scene. The victim sustained fatal injuries.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has since launched a manhunt for the suspect and is urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to report immediately to the nearest police station. Information can also be provided through the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or via WhatsApp on 0712 800197.
Police have reiterated that all information received from members of the public will be handled confidentially and may prove vital in bringing the suspect to justice.
The incident has once again highlighted the devastating consequences of unresolved family conflicts and the use of violence in settling disputes.
